I would highly recommend them to anyone who uses items requiring rechargeable batteries. These batteries seem to last longer than the others I have had so I haven't had to recharge them as often.
if you need a battery to last longer than that or take significantly more photos, i suppose you might have an issue with these batteries, but we certainly do not. we've had a set of these batteries now for over a year and i cannot agree with others' negative comments that they do not maintain a charge after time. we take some 200 photos a week, as well as many videos on our camera, and these batteries have been and still are great, lasting us probably some 2+ weeks between charges.
They're a year and half old. I put each of them back on the charger, and the charger light won't turn on. Seems they just die of old age, even without any use. When I bought these batteries, they were much cheaper than any other AA NIMH batteries on the market, to the tune of 50% or more. So beware, buy them if you expect active use in the near future, and be prepared to throw them away after a few months. After a few uses and a few months of sitting in the drawer, they seem to simply die on its own, without use. When I first used then, they lasted expected amount and recharges alright. When I took them out and charged them again, they couldn't even keep a Pentax K200D running, right after a night of charging.
The only thing keeping these from a five-star review is the price. Surprisingly this arrangement works reasonably well, and gives about 6 hours run-time, although it takes forever to charge. I use this camera every day and have recharged this pack about 100 times with no real decrease in performance. Although I've never seen a digital camera cheap enough to use AAs, the spot on the package about lasting "four times longer in digital cameras" gave me an idea. I made another battery pack using cheaper cells, Intermatic "Malibu" 1,700mAh NiMH (landscape light) batteries and it holds up about as well and cost about 30% less. The capacity on this was giving me trouble so I started looking for ways to improve the 1.5 hour battery life without adding weight to a camera that already weighs ten pounds. I have a rather large video camera, Panasonic AG-455, that takes a 2,000 mAh sealed lead-acid battery. I bought twelve of these, soldered them together to get 12V and stuffed them into the plastic shell of a retired lead-acid battery.
I have had them for over 5 years and they still last a long time. The rechargeable batteries work well.
